Dolce Vita ...
Ostuni is a city located about 8 km from the Adriatic coast in the province of Brindisi, region of Puglia, southern Italy. The name derives from ‘Astu Neon’ meaning 'New City' in Greek and features a walled acropolis that stands as a testament to its Eastern influences. Ostuni's much-photographed Piazza della Libertà is overlooked by a cathedral that was built in the 15th century in a late Gothic / early Renaissance style.
This is where the trulli region ends and where the warm, dry Salento region begins.
The town boasts some excellent restaurants, stylish bars and swish yet intimate places to stay; it is popular throughout the year, especially in Summer. Ostuni is also known as ‘La Perla Bianca’ meaning 'The White Pearl'.
Our love affair with Ostuni started like this…
My husband and I were on holiday visiting friends in Puglia. Being Mediterranean by origin, we are naturally bonded to its warm people, their luscious cuisine and their overall love for life.
The pearly white city walls of Ostuni surrounded by its magnificent historical centre, quaint pretty houses scattered on winding alleyways covered in bougainvillea and shining amidst the olive groves, made us feel like we had been transported into a fairy tale.
The idea of owning a house in Ostuni immediately started intriguing us. To our joy, and quite by accident, we came across a stunning 18th century house with a unique layout and in a prime location, which we passionately converted to its natural beauty. Great efforts were made to ensure that the original character and features of this gem are retained. We are now proud to introduce you to our house which we aptly named DOLCE VITA, which has evolved into a luxury accommodation for lovers of character, history and style.
